Delivery Guidelines
Our delivery guidelines are designed to ensure a smooth and hassle-free delivery of your storage container. Please take a few minutes to read through them. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
1. Delivery Site Requirements
Both the delivery site where your container will be placed and the area where the HIAB truck will park during unloading must be on level ground or have a gentle incline of no more than 5 degrees.
If the HIAB truck has to unload the container on sloping terrain, it may cause damage to the equipment. For safety reasons, the driver may refuse to complete the delivery if the site is unsuitable.
2. Suitable Road Surfaces
Paved surfaces such as concrete and asphalt provide the best conditions for container delivery.
We can also deliver to rural locations, provided the delivery site is accessible via a maintained two-lane road.
The following surfaces are not suitable:
- Loose dirt
- Sand
- Muddy or flooded areas
- Soft grassy ground
- Unstable or uneven soil
Before delivery, please inspect the site and remove any obstacles such as rocks, tree stumps, or debris that could damage our equipment or interfere with the delivery.
3. Weight Distribution
To ensure the container remains level and the doors operate correctly, its weight must be evenly supported by the four steel corner castings.
If necessary, place the container on:
- Concrete pavers
- Hardwood blocks
- Railroad ties (sleepers)
Always ensure the supporting surface is level. Uneven support may twist the container frame, making the doors difficult to open and close.
4. Height and Width Clearance
A minimum clearance of 14 feet (4.3 m) in both height and width is generally required.
During unloading, the driver raises the container before positioning it, with the highest point reaching approximately 10 feet (3 m).
Please ensure there are no obstacles such as:
- Low-hanging tree branches
- Gates
- Arches
- Roof eaves
- Power lines or other overhead obstructions
For safety, we recommend having two people on site during delivery to assist the driver by spotting overhead obstacles and guiding the unloading process.
If the HIAB truck cannot access your property due to limited space, please let us know in advance. We can arrange a forklift to move the container into position. Please note that forklift service is available at an additional delivery charge.
5. Length Requirements
To safely unload the container, our trucks require a straight, unobstructed approach.
Minimum straight-line access required:
- 10 ft container: 40 ft
- 20 ft container: 60 ft
- 40 ft container: 100 ft
